Drug Formulation

Half a liang of Sea Pumice (heat until red-hot over a charcoal fire, then dip in high-quality vinegar; repeat this process of heating and dipping seven times), 1 liang of Sichuan Aconite (processed over alternating high and low heat), 1 qian of Frankincense (finely ground), 1 qian of Myrrh (finely ground), and 49 seeds of Croton (peeled, stir-fried until yellow, then ground into a powder).

Processing

Pound the Sea Floatstone and Sichuan Aconite in a mortar until finely powdered; mix thoroughly with the other ingredients; form into pills the size of a paulownia seed using vinegar paste.

For all types of malignant sores, such as carbuncles and scrofulous ulcers on the scalp and back.

Instructions for Use

If the ulcer has been present for 2–3 days, take 10 pills per dose; if for 5–6 days, take 13 pills per dose. If the ulcer is located in the upper part of the body, take after meals; if in the lower part, take before meals. Do not be concerned if you feel nauseous; if the medicine is vomited up, take another dose. Adjust the dosage for children according to their age. If the patient feels no improvement, take an additional 3 pills.Before each dose, drink one cup of cold wine; if diarrhea persists, take the medicine with cold congee.

Note

After taking the medicine, avoid both hot and cold foods.
