Drug Formulation

6 fen of Forsythia, 6 fen of Cimicifuga, 5 fen of Platycodon, 4 fen of raw Scutellaria, 4 fen of raw Rehmannia, 3 fen of Astragalus, 3 fen of Sappanwood, 3 fen of Coptis, 3 fen of Earthworm, 3 fen of Whole Scorpion, 3 fen of Angelica, 2 fen of White Cardamom, 2 fen of Ginseng, 1.5 fen of Licorice, 1 fen of Paulownia Tears, a pinch of Musk,3 Peach Kernels, 3 Horseflies (with wings and legs removed, stir-fried), 3 Leeches (stir-fried until all smoke has dissipated).

Processing

Coarsely grind the ingredients to the size of sesame seeds; set aside Forsythia, Paulownia Tears, and White Cardamom to be ground into a fine powder separately; grind Musk, Horsefly, and Leeches together into a fine powder; combine all into a single dose.

Instructions for Use

Add 2 zhan of water and 1 zhan of wine, add Forsythia, and decoct until reduced to 1 zhan; strain out the residue, then add the two ingredients from White Cardamom along with Musk and the others, and decoct again until reduced to 7 fen. Take it while still slightly warm, after breakfast and before lunch.

Note

Avoid alcohol, wet noodles, raw or cold foods, and hard foods.
