Ephedra 6 liang, jujubes 50, apricot kernels 4 liang, Atractylodes macrocephala 4 liang, gypsum 4 liang, Cinnamomum cassia 3 liang, ginseng 3 liang, dried ginger 3 liang, Poria cocos 3 liang, Angelica sinensis 1 liang, Ligusticum chuanxiong 1 liang, licorice 1 liang (one version omits Atractylodes macrocephala and Poria cocos, and includes Scutellaria baicalensis).

Benefits

For lung deficiency with cold, caused by exposure to a violent wind, presenting with gasping and trembling, hoarseness and a blocked voice with scattered and weak sound, shortness of breath and exhaustion, numbness and weakness in the limbs, a pale and ashen complexion, loss of bowel and bladder control, and cold sweats.

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients. Boil Ephedra in 1 dou 2 sheng of water, skimming off the foam; then add the remaining herbs, decoct until reduced to 3 sheng, strain, and divide into 3 doses.
