Drug Formulation

Cloves 2 qian, Frankincense 3 qian, Akebia stem 2 qian (peeled), Polygala root 1 liang,half liang of lotus seed, half liang of Ophiopogon (with core removed), half liang of Poria cocos, 1 liang of dragon bone (calcined), half liang of Pinellia (cut into small pieces, stir-fried with half liang of large Poria until yellow, then remove the Poria), half liang of aniseed (stir-fried with 14 Mylabris beetles—wings and legs removed—until yellow, then remove the beetles).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder; boil Chinese yam in wine and place it in a sand mortar, then pound 1,000 times. Form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.
