Drug Formulation
1 snake shed (whole, cleaned, burned to ash, and finely ground), 1 qian of mercury, 1 qian of yellow丹 (both ground together to a fine powder), 1 black chicken egg (membrane removed, finely ground to a powder), 1 qian of realgar (finely ground), and 2 qian of cuttlefish bone (ground to a powder).

Processing
Melt half a liang of beeswax and mix the melted wax with the powdered ingredients listed above. Simmer together until it forms a paste. Stir thoroughly with a willow twig, then shape into pills the size of a sesame seed, or press them into flat discs on the fingernail.

Instructions for Use
Use two “pancakes” each time; before bed, apply them to the outer canthus of the eye or directly onto the corneal opacity. The next morning, before washing your face, take one large bowl of water, place the medicine in the water, and look into it—the medicine will naturally fall into the water. Observe how much of the opacity has been removed; if not completely removed, reapply, and the treatment will certainly be effective. For stubborn, thick opacities, results will be seen in no more than half a month; for minor cases, results will be seen in 3–5 days.
