Three Bupleurum Decoction,For those with a constitutional deficiency of yin, or those with insufficient blood in the Liver Meridian who have occasionally contracted wind-cold; or for cases where the pathogenic factor has not penetrated deeply and can be treated with a combination of tonification and dispersion; or for colds contracted after illness or childbirth, where the use of dispersing agents is unavoidable but blood and qi are too weak to expel the pathogen outward.

Chinese Name : 三柴胡饮

Drug Formulation

2–3 qian of Bupleurum, 1.5 qian of Paeonia, 1 qian of fried licorice, 1 qian of tangerine peel, 3–5 slices of fresh ginger, 2 qian of Angelica (for patients with loose stools, substitute with prepared Rehmannia).

Instructions for Use

Add 1.5 zhong of water; decoct until reduced to 7–8 fen; take while warm.
