Processing
Place the bamboo shavings in 12 times their volume of water and warm-soak at 100°C for 3 hours; filter the extract and set it aside. Add 10 times the volume of water to the residue and extract using the same method for 2 hours; combine this filtrate with the previous extract. Concentrate to a dry matter ratio of 2:1, then add 1.5 times the volume of 95% ethanol to precipitate impurities.allow to stand for 4–8 hours, then filter off the supernatant; wash the precipitate 2–3 times with 60% ethanol to elute the soluble components; combine the washings with the filtrate, recover the ethanol, allow to cool, filter once more, and concentrate into a thick extract; determine the content; add an appropriate amount of excipients based on the specified extract quantity, and compress into tablets, each containing 100 mg of total extract; the product is thus obtained.
