Drug Formulation
Hair residue (select black hair; gender does not matter. Wash thoroughly with a decoction of soapberry, then rinse with clean water until it no longer has an oily or greasy odor when tasted. Sun-dry, place in a large pot, layer with Sichuan red chili peppers—stems and seeds removed—and hair strands, cover securely with a small pot lid,seal the top with salt mud, and weigh it down with a heavy stone on the pot’s base. First, calcine over high heat for one incense stick’s duration, then over low heat for half an incense stick’s duration, until all blue smoke has dissipated and no odor remains.Once cooled, remove the mixture, grind it into a fine powder, and sift it through a double-layered silk sieve. 1 jin; He Shou Wu (8 liang each of red and white varieties; first soak in rice washing water, then scrape off the skin with a bamboo knife) 16 liang; Huai Shan Yao (peel the Huai Shan Yao along with the He Shou Wu, slice with a bamboo knife, cover with 2 sheng of black beans, steam until tender, then sun-dry) 8 liang; Red Poria (peel, soak in cow’s milk for one day and one night) 8 liang;White Poria (soaked in human milk for one day and one night) 4 liang, Polygonum multiflorum (mixed with wine, stir-fried in an earthenware pot until fragrant) 4 liang, Cuscuta seed (soaked in one bowl of human milk and half a bowl of wine overnight, steamed over a rice pot through a cloth until cooked, sun-dried, lightly stir-fried, and ground into a fine powder) 4 liang,Goji berries (stems and stalks removed, mixed with wine and steamed until tender) 4 liang, raw Rehmannia root (steamed with wine) half jin, Atractylodes (peeled and ground into a fine powder) half jin, prepared Rehmannia root (steamed with wine) half jin, turtle shell (roasted with clarified butter) half jin, Angelica sinensis (tails removed, soaked in wine) 4 liang, Achyranthes root (soaked in wine, steamed with black beans) 4 liang.

Processing
Grind each of the above herbs into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
Instructions for Use
Take 50–60 pills per dose, washed down with medicinal wine (medicinal wine formula: Angelica sinensis, Rehmannia glutinosa, Acanthopanax senticosus bark, Ligusticum chuanxiong,Peony Root, and Goji Berries—each 2 liang; walnut meat 1 jin; Amomum 5 qian; Phellodendron 1 liang; small red dates 200; use 36 jin of ash-free white liquor, set aside 5 jin of which; add the herbs to a jar, seal tightly, and cook over a water bath; after cooling and settling, remove the dregs, then add the reserved liquor and reseal for use).
