Drug Formulation

Half a liang of Cinnamon Bark, 1 liang of Bupleurum (stems removed), 1 fen of Licorice (lightly roasted until reddish, coarsely chopped), 1 liang of Pueraria Root (coarsely chopped), half a liang of Red Poria, half a liang of Alisma, half a liang of Red Peony Root, and 1 liang of Ephedra (roots and nodes removed).

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder.

Benefits

For a febrile illness lasting 3 days, with the exterior syndrome still unresolved, high fever, and stiffness in the head, eyes, and limbs.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 qian per dose. Boil with 1 medium bowl of water and 2–7 mint leaves until reduced to 6 fen; strain out the residue. Take while still slightly warm, regardless of the time of day. Cover with clothing to induce sweating; if sweating does not occur, take another dose.
