Drug Formulation

20g of artificial ox bile, 30g of antelope horn, 30g of rhinoceros horn, 4g of pearl, 20g of borneol, 4g of cinnabar, 30g of Scrophularia root, 30g of Zhejiang fritillary bulb, 30g of Coptis rhizome, 30g of Notopterygium root, 50g of realgar,indigo powder 20 g, violets 200 g, honeysuckle 200 g, chrysanthemum 200 g, frankincense (stir-fried with vinegar) 30 g, lithospermum 50 g, myrrh (stir-fried with vinegar) 30 g, licorice 50 g.

Processing

Of the nineteen ingredients listed above, except for the four—Viola yedoensis, Lonicera japonica, Chrysanthemum morifolium, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis—which are decocted in water and reduced to a thick paste, grind Pearl and Cinnabar into an extremely fine powder, and grind the four ingredients—Rhinoceros Horn, Goat-antelope Horn, Borneol, and Ox Bile—separately into fine powders;the remaining herbs are ground into a fine powder, sifted, and thoroughly mixed with the six powdered ingredients (including ox bile and pearl). This mixture is then combined with the thick decoction of the four herbs (including violets and honeysuckle) and an appropriate amount of aged honey to form honey pills. Each pill weighs 1.563 g.

Instructions for Use

Take orally: for children aged 1–2 years, 1/2 pill per dose; for children aged 3–4 years, 1 pill per dose; for adults, 2 pills per dose, 1 to 2 times daily.
