Raw gypsum (finely ground) 2 liang, licorice 3 qian, ephedra 2 qian.

Benefits
For cases where there is pre-existing internal heat in the chest compounded by an external pathogen, resulting in extreme chest distress and rapid, labored breathing; the pulse is floating, full, and forceful but not firm upon palpation; and the tongue coating is white but not yellow.
Instructions for Use
Decoct the above ingredients in steam-distilled water (if steam-distilled water is unavailable in remote areas, clear spring water may be used as a substitute) until it boils 2–3 times. Take one large bowl of the clear decoction and divide it into six warm doses. Take the first three doses at 1:00, and the last three at 1:30. Discontinue the medication once the illness is cured; it is not necessary to finish the entire prescription. If the lower jiao feels cold, discontinue the medication as well.
