Drug Formulation

Cinnabar 6 qian (use 5 qian; set aside 1 qian as a coating), Ginseng half liang, Agarwood half liang, Whole Scorpion (lightly roasted) half liang, White Silkworm Pupae (lightly roasted) half liang, Gastrodia (roasted) half liang, Tiannanxing 1 piece (weighing 3 liang, processed), Chuanxiong 1 liang,1 piece of Aconite (weighing 6 qian, processed), 1 liang of Wulingzhi (use only 8 qian), 1.5 qian of Frankincense, 2 centipedes (soaked in wine together with a snake head), 1 white flower snake head (with skin and bones, soaked in wine for 3–4 nights), 1 black snake head (with skin and bones, soaked in wine for 3–4 nights),7 qian of flower snake (from 7 cun behind the neck onward, including 1–2 liang of skin and bones; take 7 qian of clean meat and soak together with the snake heads), 1 qian of ox bile, 1 qian of musk, 1 qian of borneol, 1 qian of myrrh, 1 qian of dragon’s blood, 1 qian of realgar (finely ground), 1 male sparrow (guts removed; fill with realgar; seal with salt mud; calcine over moderate to high heat).

Instructions for Use

For treating stroke-induced paralysis in adults, take half a pill per dose, washed down with wine in the morning; for acute and chronic convulsions in children, divide each pill into 4 doses and wash them down with mint wine.
