Drug Formulation
4 liang of dried apricot kernels (with skin; pierce 5–7 holes with a needle), 1 goose pear (peeled, cored, and flesh removed), half a liang of licorice, and 2.5 qian of cardamom.

Processing
Slice the goose pear flesh, grind it finely, place the almonds inside, add 1 qian of arsenic trioxide powder, cover tightly, and let stand overnight. Remove the almonds and roast them until dry; return them to the juice and roast again until the juice is completely absorbed. Do not roast after the final time; instead, grind the licorice and cardamom into a powder, mix with the almonds, and store in a jar.

Instructions for Use
Take 2 apricot kernels and about half a qian of the powder; place them in a cup of boiling water and let them steep. The flesh of the apricot kernels will dissolve on its own, and the skins will float to the surface of the cup; sip the liquid slowly.
