Drug Formulation

1 large Tiannanxing (soak in wine, wrap in damp paper, roast until tender, then bake dry), 1 centipede (roasted with wine), 7 white silkworm pupae (with silk and mouthparts removed), 7 whole scorpions (de-toxified), 1 fen Tianxianzi, 1 qian cinnabar (ground separately),1 qian of Aster tataricus, 1 qian of Apricot Kernel, 1 qian of Dragon Bone, 1 qian of Fangfeng, 1 qian of Gentiana root, 1 qian of Cicada Wing, 1 qian of Lily Bulb, 1 qian of Ox Bile (ground separately), 1 qian of Angelica dahurica, 1 qian of Musk, 3 qian of Cimicifuga, 4 qian of Rheum (steamed), 1 liang of clarified butter, and 3 liang of honey.

Processing

First, grind the ox bile, musk, and cinnabar into powders separately. Grind all remaining ingredients (except the clarified butter and honey) into a fine powder. Add 1 sheng of water to a silver pot and simmer until reduced to 3 he. Strain through fresh cotton to remove the residue, then return the liquid to the pot. Add the ox bile, cinnabar, and musk powders, along with the clarified butter and honey. Stir continuously with a willow whisk,and simmer over low heat until the mixture thickens to the consistency of thick syrup. Transfer to a porcelain jar, cover tightly, and store.

Instructions for Use

For one-year-old children, take a dose the size of a chicken-head seed each time, dissolved in boiling water, 2–3 times a day.
