5 liang of honeysuckle, 5 qian of Asarum, 1 liang of prepared rehmannia, 1 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala, 3 qian of Phellodendron bark, 3 qian of plantain seed.

Instructions for Use
Decoct the honeysuckle in 10 bowls of water until reduced to 4 bowls; first, use 2 of these bowls of decoction to simmer the remaining herbs until reduced to 1 bowl, and take it on an empty stomach; shortly thereafter, use the remaining 2 bowls of decoction to simmer the herb residue until reduced to 1 bowl, and take it again. Take two consecutive doses. For an abscess in its early stages, taking this formula will dispel the toxin and bring about a cure.
Note
If the abscess has already ruptured and is oozing clear fluid, do not use this formula.
