Drug Formulation

1 jin of sesame oil; peach twigs, willow twigs, tangerine twigs, plum twigs, mulberry twigs; and 67 castor seeds (shelled).

Processing

Soak all the above ingredients in the oil and simmer together until the mixture turns reddish. Remove the five branches, strain the mixture through a silk cloth, add 1 qian of frankincense, followed by 3 qian of myrrh, then gradually add half a jin of orpiment, followed by bitumen, stirring continuously until the ointment reaches the proper consistency.
