Drug Formulation

1 sheng of sesame oil, 1 sheng of pork lard from the 12th lunar month, 1 he of black chicken fat, 1.5 liang of cloves, 1.5 liang of costus resin, 3 liang of Linglingxiang, 2 liang of Ligusticum wallichii, 2 liang of bamboo leaves, 2 liang of Asarum, 2 liang of Sichuan pepper (seeds removed),3 liang of Mu Xu Xiang, 1 liang of Bai Zhi, 1 liang of Ze Lan, 1 liang of hemp seeds, 1 liang of white mulberry root bark, 1 liang of Xin Ti, 1 liang of Sang Ji Sheng, 1 liang of Mu Jing Zi, 3 liang of Fang Feng (with the root tip removed), 3 liang of apricot kernels (soaked in hot water, with skin, tip, and double kernels removed), 1 liang of Mang Cao, and 3 liang of cypress leaves.

Processing

Finely chop the ingredients, soak them in rice vinegar overnight, strain, then add to a mixture of oil, lard, and chicken fat. Simmer over low heat until the white angelica turns a deep golden brown and the ointment is formed. Filter through cotton to remove residue, and store in a porcelain jar.

Instructions for Use

Wash the scalp thoroughly and apply the ointment twice daily. Results will appear within 30 days.
