Drug Formulation

5 sheets of gold leaf, 5 sheets of silver leaf, cinnabar (ground together with the gold and silver leaf) 1 liang, amber (ground separately) 1 fen, tortoise shell (pounded) 1 fen, pearl (ground separately) 1 fen, rhinoceros horn (pounded) 1 fen,Borax (ground separately) 1 fen, Borneol (ground separately) 1 fen, Ox Bile (ground separately) half a qian, Ginseng 1.5 liang, White Poria (with black skin removed) 1.5 liang, Placenta 2 liang, Poria Sclerotium (with woody core removed) half a liang, Licorice (raw, coarsely chopped) 1 liang.

Processing

Except for those requiring separate grinding, pound the above herbs into a fine powder, mix thoroughly, and combine with refined honey to form pills the size of a chicken’s head.
