Processing

Mash thoroughly to extract the juice, strain the pulp through silk, and place the liquid in a large silver bowl. Simmer over low heat until it becomes a thin paste. Tie together 5–7 slender green bamboo shoots (leaves removed) and stir continuously without stopping until the mixture reaches the consistency of thin batter; then set aside.

Instructions for Use

If the abscess has no head and no discoloration, or if it is neither hot nor cold, apply the ointment externally first, gradually working inward; if there are red veins and a head, apply it first along the red veins, gradually working outward. Apply 3–4 times a day; do not apply carelessly.
