Processing

Roast the above herb until it pops, then grind it coarsely. Place it in a wine bottle, layering it alternately with human hair (blood residue) until the bottle is 7–8 fen full. Cover the opening with a wire mesh or plug it with locust or willow twigs. Next, take a square brick, drill a hole in the center, and invert the bottle so that its opening fits over the brick. Seal the opening tightly with mud. Next, dig a pit in the ground, place a bowl inside the pit, and cover the pit with the brick, ensuring the bottle’s opening aligns with the bowl. Seal the area around the brick tightly to prevent air from entering. Then, pile dry horse manure on top of the brick until it covers the bottom of the bottle. Light a fire at the top and let it burn overnight. After the ashes have cooled, remove the oil from the bowl.
