Drug Formulation
5 chebulic myrobalan fruits (wrap in flour, roast over a fire until warm—neither raw nor charred; once properly roasted, remove the flour; while still warm, bite the fruits open, discard the pits, and use only the peel; then dry in an oven).

For the initial stage of toxic dysentery, when chills and fever first appear, and after taking the Tong Shen San, the chills and fever have subsided and the bloody stools have ceased.
Instructions for Use
Take 2 qian per dose; simmer with 1.5 zhan of rice broth until reduced to 1 zhan, then drink. If vomiting occurs, it will stop after 1–2 mouthfuls of saliva. Continue taking several zhan in this manner; the large intestine will gradually settle, and the frequency of bowel movements will decrease. Once this occurs, prepare and take the “Sulfur Pills from the Ship.”
