Processing

Soak all ingredients in the oil for over 10 days before placing them in the pot. Simmer over alternating high and low heat; once the herbs have turned dry and black, strain out the residue through a cloth. Return the mixture to the pot, add the dan just before it is ready, and simmer over low heat until a drop of the mixture forms a bead when dropped into water. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before adding the fine medicinal ingredients, stirring thoroughly. Spread the mixture onto oiled paper.
