Drug Formulation
1 liang of Wulingzhi (soaked in rice vinegar until dissolved, strained to remove grit, then simmered over low heat into a paste), half a liang of Qianghuo (with the root tip removed), 4 Datura flowers, 2 qian of Tianma (soaked in wine, then dried in an oven),Black Snake Tail (soaked in wine, meat extracted and dried in an oven) 2 qian, Talc (ground separately) 2 qian, Uncaria 2 qian, White Aconite Root (roasted) 2 qian, Fangfeng (root tip removed) 2 qian, Linglingxiang 2 qian,Tiannanxing (roasted) 2 qian, white silkworm pupae (roasted, with silk mouthparts removed) 10 pieces, whole scorpions (de-toxified) 10 pieces, Gangzi (shell removed, insect extracted) 10 pieces, cicada slough 10 pieces, musk 1 qian (ground separately), cinnabar (ground separately) half a qian, dragon’s blood (ground separately) half a qian, frankincense (ground separately) half a qian.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; then mix in the separately ground ingredients until uniform. Use the Wulingzhi paste prepared earlier to form pills, making 40 pills per 1 liang.

Instructions for Use
Administer 1 pill per dose. For acute convulsions, add a small amount of borneol and dissolve the pill in a decoction of mint; for chronic convulsions, add a small amount of musk and dissolve the pill in a decoction of Chinese mint, then mix with 2–3 drops of wine and administer. Take at any time.
