Chinese Name : 祛疟丹

Drug Formulation

2 liang of Changshan (finely chopped), 1 liang of black plum (thinly sliced with the pit intact), and half a liang of red cinnabar.

Processing

Roast the black plums separately on roof tiles; sun-dry or roast the Changshan, then grind them together with the black plums and red cinnabar into a fine powder. Mix with glutinous rice flour boiled into a paste to form pills the size of a hemp seed.

Benefits

For malaria that has persisted for a long time.

Instructions for Use

Take 30–50 pills per dose. Take on an empty stomach with cool wine before an attack begins, or take with wine the night before an attack. For severe cases, take two doses; for mild cases, take one dose.

Note

Avoid chicken, wheat flour, mutton, raw or cold foods, and toxic substances.
