Processing
Add 2 liang of thinly sliced fresh ginger and 50 large red dates; decoct together. Remove the ginger and dates. Be sure to select authentic, sliced ingredients and weigh them according to the formula. Simmer in a large copper pot to extract a concentrated decoction; an iron pot may also be used, but it must be thoroughly wiped clean of oil. Then add 5–6 jin or 7–8 jin of black tea leaves, mix thoroughly, remove from the pot, and dry separately to prevent damage from excessive heat. Allow to cool, then store in a porcelain jar and seal tightly to preserve the medicinal properties. If the medicinal properties are lost or the mixture becomes moldy, the remedy may not be effective.
