Fangfeng (stem removed, chopped, roasted) half liang; Sichuan Aconite (roasted) half liang; high-quality ink (chopped, roasted) half liang; Sichuan Aconite Root (roasted) half liang; Sandalwood half liang; wheat (kernels removed, roasted) 7 qian;Agastache leaves (dirt removed, roasted) 7 qian, White茅 7 qian, Polygonum multiflorum (chopped, soaked with 2 qian of licorice in ginger juice for two nights, roasted, soaked again, and roasted) 7 qian,Dried ginger 7 qian, white silkworm pupae (stir-fried in oil, silk threads removed) 7.5 qian, whole scorpions (soaked in ginger juice for one night, then roasted) 7.5 qian, Tiannanxing (roasted until cracked and cooked, sliced; soaked with 3 qian of licorice in half a zhan of ginger juice, chopped, soaked for two nights, roasted, then roasted again until all the ginger juice is absorbed) 7.5 qian,White Aconite Root (roasted until split into 10 pieces, soaked with 3 qian of licorice in ginger juice for 2 nights, baked, then soaked and baked again) 7.5 qian, Donkey-hide Gelatin (soaked in water and steamed, then made into pills with glutinous rice paste) 7.5 qian, Asarum (leaves and soil removed, coarsely chopped, baked) 8 qian, White Angelica (coarsely chopped, baked) 8 qian,Cyperus Rhizome (roasted, hair removed, crushed; soaked with 2 qian of licorice in ginger juice for two nights, baked, then soaked again in the remaining juice) 8 qian, Sichuan Ligusticum (chopped, baked) 8 qian,Soapberry Ash (smoked and calcined), Atractylodes (soil removed, coarsely chopped, and roasted; the Sichuan variety is especially effective), Pinellia (washed in boiling water 10 times, stir-fried until sandy and hot, processed, sliced, then soaked in half a zhan of ginger juice mixed with 3 qian of licorice for 2–3 nights, roasted, re-soaked, and re-roasted) half liang,Cardamom (crushed to remove the husk and membrane, soaked in ginger juice for 1–2 days, roasted, then soaked and roasted again) 6 qian, Atractylodes macrocephala (chopped, roasted) 1 liang 2 qian, Amomum villosum (husk and membrane removed, lightly roasted) 1 liang,Musk (finely ground separately, then mixed with the powdered herbs) 1 qian; Borneol (ground with musk, then mixed with the powdered herbs) 1 qian; White Licorice (roasted until tender, coarsely chopped, and roasted) 1 liang 7 qian.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix thoroughly in a large bowl for two days until extremely uniform. Combine with 2 liang of glutinous rice flour, add water to form a paste, and mix with donkey-hide gelatin paste to form pills the size of a chicken’s head. Dry thoroughly in an oven, then store in a porcelain jar in a warm place.

Instructions for Use
If preparing raw, coarsely chopped ingredients: slice all herbs into thin pieces. Add half a jin or 7 liang of fresh ginger and 3 liang of licorice root to a porcelain jar. Add approximately 1 dou 5 sheng of water and simmer over alternating low and high heat until the liquid has completely evaporated. Remove the Aconite, White Reed,sandalwood, cardamom, and patchouli leaves—do not boil them; simply roast them. Pound into a powder to preserve the full aroma. Combine all the boiled herbs in one place, roast and pound them into a fine powder. Then, grind camphor and musk together with the sandalwood and white茅, and let them simmer in a large bowl for 2–3 days to blend the medicinal properties before mixing and pounding into pills.The key to decocting the herbs is to use water that is about 1 cun higher than the herbs, and to simmer over alternating high and low heat. For all wind-related disorders, take the herbs with roasted black beans and wine; for sudden stroke-induced collapse or unconsciousness due to intoxication, grind 3–5 pills with ginger soup and administer orally; for infantile convulsions, tetany, and the five types of epilepsy, add a small amount of Beijing talcum powder and take with a decoction of gold and silver flowers and peppermint tea;For deep-seated cold and chronic chill, take with ginger soup; for all Qi-related disorders, take with aniseed soup; for headaches and hidden wind, take with Chinese skullcap soup; for coughs with phlegm, take with Pinellia soup; for lung Qi attacking the defensive Qi, take with apricot kernel soup; for malaria, take with black plum soup;watery diarrhea: take with dried ginger decoction; dysentery: take with licorice decoction; foot ailments and dampness: take with papaya decoction; alcohol-induced injury and food stagnation, with disharmony of stomach qi: take with aged tangerine peel and ginger decoction; intestinal wind: take with walnut wine; the second stage of typhoid fever: take with scallion and fermented black bean decoction; epidemic diseases, mountain mists and miasmas, and failure to adapt to local climate and soil: take with Gaobin decoction;For poisoning, grind with licorice water and administer orally; for toothache, hold in the mouth while lying down at night; for tooth decay, fill the cavity; for women’s blood-related disorders and blood-qi imbalances, take with Angelica wine; for deficiency-cold in the blood organs, red or white vaginal discharge, hematuria, or blood-induced fainting, burn palm fronds to ash, grind finely, mix with wine, and take orally; for lower back and waist pain, and general fatigue, take with warm wine. For regular use, take after meals with tea.
