Drug Formulation
8 liang of white, tender rosin; 2 qian of verdigris; 10 pieces of wood-tortoise (shell removed); 2 qian of apricot kernels (skin removed); 10 seeds of croton; 4 qian of myrrh; 1 liang 4 qian of castor seeds (shell removed); 4 qian of frankincense; 1 liang of bleached cinnabar; 1 liang of lead powder; 1 liang of camphor.

Processing
First, pound the four ingredients—rosin, croton seed kernels, castor seeds, and almonds—into a paste. Then add the five ingredients—frankincense, myrrh, lead powder, verdigris, and strychnos seeds—and pound until well blended. Finally, add the two ingredients—camphor and cinnabar—and pound into a paste. The more you pound it, the redder it becomes; the stickier it is, the more effective it is.

Effective for sores, boils, carbuncles, leg ulcers, scrofula, and “eel-head” lesions.
