Chinese Name : 牛胆丸

Drug Formulation

1 ox gallbladder, 1 sheng of Cnidium flowers, half a sheng of Coptis flowers, 3 liang of melon seeds, and 8 liang of rhubarb.

Processing

Take these five ingredients; coarsely chop four of them, soak them in 1 dou of clear wine overnight, boil until reduced by half, strain out the residue, add the ox gallbladder, and simmer over low heat until the mixture can be formed into pills the size of soybeans.

Benefits

For alcohol-induced jaundice, with yellowing of the body and the discharge of curd-like substances.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill; if the jaundice does not subside by 6–7 chi per day, take another pill, up to a total of 8 pills.
