Peony and Rehmannia Decoction，From *Xiaopin Fang*, cited in Volume 2 of *Wai Tai*.，Heat disturbing the heart’s nutritive blood, resulting in mental confusion and delirium, with purplish-black rashes and a crimson tongue with raised papillae; heat entering the blood, causing hemoptysis, epistaxis, hematuria, and hematochezia;blood stasis leading to mania, reluctance to swallow water after rinsing the mouth, chest distress and pain, subjective sensation of abdominal fullness, and black stools; in cases of cold damage or warm diseases where sweating should have been induced but was not, resulting in internal stasis and blood accumulation—manifesting as a large but slow pulse, no actual abdominal distension despite the patient complaining of fullness; or in cases of persistent epistaxis or hemoptysis with residual internal blood stasis, a sallow complexion, and black stools;Mental exertion inducing internal heat, with heat entering the Blood Chamber, resulting in hemoptysis and epistaxis, delirium, and jaundice; in children, blood heat manifesting as sores and smallpox;In children, heat accumulated in the viscera leads to toxic accumulation causing diarrhea; dense rashes with profuse pus and blood; restlessness, intense thirst, difficulty swallowing; widespread skin ulceration leaving no intact skin; inability to turn over in bed; and unbearable pain; Injuries from falls, blows, or impacts result in retained pathological blood, causing pain in the flanks and lower abdomen.

Instructions for Use
Boil 1 dou of water until reduced to 4 sheng; strain out the residue; take 1 sheng while warm, 2–3 times daily.
Note
Not suitable for those with a weak constitution; however, it may be used with caution for cases of yin deficiency with internal heat manifesting as hemoptysis or coughing up phlegm. It is contraindicated for those with yin deficiency due to overwork or spleen-stomach deficiency.
