Drug Formulation

Guang Chenpi (select the red variety; wash with clean rice-washing water, remove some of the white pith, chop into large pieces, and sun-dry to 1 jin): First, use 4 liang of Zhi Ke (removed pith and cleaned), soak in 6 bowls of water overnight, then decoct to 2 bowls of concentrated decoction; mix with the tangerine peel and let soak overnight; the next day, steam thoroughly and sun-dry. Second, use 3 liang of licorice (peeled), decoct as before, soak, steam, and sun-dry.For the third treatment, use 4 liang of Tussilago flower, with the stem removed and cleaned; prepare a decoction as before, soak, steam, and sun-dry; for the fourth treatment, use 4 liang of Platycodon root, with the root base removed and cleaned; soak in water overnight as described above, then boil down to 2 bowls of concentrated decoction, strain out the residue, add 4 qian of white borax and 4 qian of sodium sulfate,4 qian of rock salt; dissolve in the decoction, mix with wine as before, soak overnight, steam thoroughly, and sun-dry; 5th time: soak and mix with bamboo sap, then steam and sun-dry as before; 6th time: soak and mix with pear juice, then steam and sun-dry as before;For the seventh time, soak and mix with ginger juice and radish juice, then steam and sun-dry as before. 1 jin: 3 qian of agarwood, 3 qian of sandalwood, 1 liang of hawthorn seeds, 1 qian of Baiyao decoction, 1 liang of fine tea, 1 liang of dried black plum pulp, 5 qian of white borax, 5 qian of Schisandra berries, 1 liang of ginseng, 1 liang of Trichosanthes root, 1 liang of mint leaves, and 1 liang of Pinellia (stir-fried with ginger juice).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, add 10 liang of white sugar frost and 10 liang of refined honey, mix thoroughly, pound in a mortar with 1,000 strokes of the pestle, and press into cakes.
