Once the redness and swelling subside and a fissure appears between the necrotic tissue and healthy tissue, switch to a 10% toad venom compound(i.e., 1 part of the above medicine to 9 parts of calcined gypsum). When the necrotic tissue begins to slough off, switch again to a 5% toad venom compound (i.e., 1 part of the above medicine to 9 parts of calcined gypsum, 5 parts of calcined zinc oxide, and 5 parts of cuttlefish bone). The medicine may also be sprayed into the mouth or onto affected areas of the throat using a medicated spray device.
