Chinese Name : 紫精丹
Drug Formulation
2 liang of sulfur (finely ground to a flour-like consistency; it will not subside under heat), 4 liang of cinnabar (sifted through ramie cloth to remove dust; use only the fine particles).

Processing
Grind the above ingredients together with the sulfur until uniform, mix with 2 sheng of hot water, and let cool. Drain off the water, then place the mixture in a well-sealed bottle. First, heat it gently over low flame until thoroughly warm; next, roast it over high flame until it glows red;allow to cool, then grind finely again; rinse with hot water to extract the concentrated portion, discarding the sediment at the bottom; repeat this process ten times, then clarify and filter thoroughly, discarding the cinnabar; next, spread heavy-duty paper over the ash until dry—at which point the fire toxicity is gone—soak in water, and shape into pills the size of mung beans using steamed buns.

Take 5 pills per dose on an empty stomach, with tea or wine as a vehicle.
