Drug Formulation

2 qian of almond kernels, 1 qian of Notopterygium root, 3 slices of fresh ginger, 3 qian of Perilla leaf, 3 qian of Platycodon root, 2 pitted jujubes, 2 qian of Saposhnikovia root, and 1 qian 5 fen of licorice root.

Instructions for Use

Boil the mixture down to 2 teacups; take 1 cup first. Cover the patient with a blanket to induce a light sweat—do not allow profuse sweating. After the sweat subsides, take the second cup; if no sweat occurs, take the second cup; if still no sweat, take another dose, continuing until a sweat is achieved.

Note

After sweating, avoid drafts; consume only thin congee, and strictly avoid meat.
