Drug Formulation

Rhubarb 10 jin (must be the variety with a brocade-like pattern; cut into small pieces the size of a Go stone; use 10 jin of fine wine; first soak the rhubarb thoroughly in rice washing water; line a steamer with Platycladus orientalis leaves; place the rhubarb inside, steam, then sun-dry; soak it in wine again, then steam and sun-dry until completely dry).Separately, use 1 jin of mulberry leaves, 1 jin of peach leaves, 1 jin of locust leaves, 1 jin of barley, 1 jin of black beans, and 1 jin of mung beans. Decoct each ingredient to extract the juice, then steam it down. For each steaming, line the steamer with side cypress leaves; after steaming, dry in the sun, then steam and dry again.After processing, take 1 jin of Pinellia, 1 jin of Magnolia bark, 1 jin of dried tangerine peel, 1 jin of Atractylodes, 1 jin of Cyperus, and 1 jin of Plantain; decoct each ingredient to extract the juice and steam it down as described above, steaming and sun-drying after each steaming.

Processing

Mix the above ingredients with 10 jin of high-quality wine until thoroughly incorporated, then form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Take 1–2 qian per dose. It may also be prepared as a powder.
