Drug Formulation

Half a liang of realgar, half a liang of cinnabar, half a liang of musk, half a liang of talcum powder, 1 liang of white aconite root, 1 liang of pinellia (washed 7 times in boiling water), 1 liang of processed aconite tuber, 1 liang of Sichuan aconite root, 1 liang of aconite root (each raw, with skin and pith removed), 1 liang of dried scorpion, 1 liang of notopterygium, 1 liang of gastrodia, 1 liang of Sichuan ligusticum,Cinnamon Bark (with coarse bark removed) 1 liang, White Silkworm Larvae 1 liang, Wood Fragrance 1 liang, White Fresh Bark 1 liang, Black Snake 1 liang, Flower Snake (processed with wine, roasted) 1 liang, Croton Seed (clean flesh boiled in mint juice for 50–70 boils, oil removed).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder and form into pills the size of mung beans using rice porridge.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 pills with tea or wine as a regular regimen; for cold-induced abdominal pain, take with ginger soup; for undigested food, take with tangerine peel soup; for obstruction of urination or defecation, take with licorice and soybean-infused wine; for acute convulsions, take with peppermint wine; for paralysis, take with soybean-infused wine; for food and alcohol intoxication, take with ginger soup;for wind-induced disorders, take with anise wine; for blood-qi disorders, take with Chinese mint wine or vinegar broth; for constipation with dry stools, take with ginger broth; for white dysentery, take with pepper broth;For wind-induced eye inflammation, take it with a decoction of Phyllostachys edulis leaves; symptoms will subside within a short time; for headaches caused by wind, take it with a decoction of Sophora japonica branches; for hives, take it with honey wine; for red-and-white dysentery, take it with Er Yi Decoction; for headaches due to cold damage, take it with salted water; for red dysentery, take it with licorice decoction; for childhood malnutrition, take it with rice gruel; for wind-induced eye inflammation, take it with a decoction of Phyllostachys edulis leaves brewed with water from an ancient well; for infantile convulsions, take it with peppermint and breast milk.
