Benefits

When external yin cold combines with internal injury from raw and cold foods, it results in cold-type cholera, characterized by vomiting and diarrhea of clear fluid often accompanied by a fishy odor; a tight and full sensation in the chest and diaphragm; severe pain in the epigastrium and abdomen; cold hands extending to the arms and cold feet extending to the thighs; scanty urination or constipation; in severe cases, vomiting and diarrhea with spontaneous cold sweats; a pulse that is often deep and faint, nearly imperceptible, or deep and fine, resembling a hidden pulse; and a white, glossy tongue coating with a lackluster appearance.

Instructions for Use

Apply 2–3 fen to the navel and seal it with a medicated plaster. Recovery will occur within one hour.

Note

Although the herbs in this formula are potent and forceful, they act primarily through their energy, entering the abdomen via the navel to warm and unblock the viscera and expel cold pathogens without damaging yin. This is truly the best strategy. However, in cases of thirst, a yellow tongue coating, and severe diarrhea accompanied by extreme fever—which clearly indicate a yang syndrome—even if cold limbs and a hidden pulse are present, do not rashly use this powder, as it would only fan the flames of the condition. Pregnant women should avoid applying this formula.
