Rhubarb and Aconite Decoction,From *The Golden Chamber* (Volume 1).,Yang deficiency with cold stagnation, abdominal pain with constipation, pain on one side of the flanks, fever, cold extremities, white and greasy tongue coating, and a tight and string-like pulse. Currently used for intercostal neuralgia, sciatica, kidney stones, gallstones, chronic appendicitis, pancreatitis, and inguinal hernias presenting with the aforementioned symptoms. In cases of “sexual jaundice,” the body appears yellow, there is slight sweating on the forehead, urination is normal, and stools are black. This condition arises from excessive sexual activity causing blood to stagnate in the lower abdomen, leading to jaundice; consequently, pain extends from the lower abdomen to the lower back. While this formula is particularly effective for treating one-sided pain, its applications extend beyond that to include cold hernias, chest and abdominal colic radiating to the chest, heart, and lower back, scrotal swelling and heat, intermittent gurgling sounds in the abdomen, and severe aversion to cold.
