Formulas Name : Rhubarb Decoction for Clearing Heat
Chinese Name : 大黄泄热汤
Drug Formulation
2 liang of rhubarb, 2 liang of Alisma, 2 liang of Scutellaria, 2 liang of Gardenia seeds, 2 liang of sodium carbonate, 2 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 30 jujubes, 8 liang of gypsum (crushed and wrapped in cotton), and 1 liang of licorice (roasted).

Processing
Chop the ingredients.
Benefits
Heat due to mental exertion, sores in the mouth, difficult bowel movements, constipation, chest fullness and pain, and heat in the lower abdomen.
Instructions for Use
Using 9 sheng of water, first set aside 1 sheng to soak the rhubarb overnight. Boil the remaining 8 sheng with the other herbs until reduced to 2 sheng and 5 he; strain out the residue. Add the rhubarb and boil for two more boils; strain out the rhubarb residue. Add the sodium silicate, then divide the decoction into three doses.
Note
Avoid seaweed, raw scallions, and Chinese cabbage.
