Drug Formulation

1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of Beijing-grown Curcuma zedoaria, 1 liang of Areca nut, 1 liang of Trichosanthes kirilowii seed, 1 liang of Sichuan-grown Manis pentadactyla shell (roasted), 1.5 liang of oyster shell (ground into powder; both oyster shell and roasted Manis pentadactyla shell may be used), 1.5 liang of Forsythia suspensa, 1.5 liang of Fructus Aurantii (roasted), 1 liang of realgar (baked),1 liang of Amber, 21 seeds of Croton tiglium (oil removed), and a small amount of Musk.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with wine paste to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 10–30 pills per dose, washed down with warm wine; take another dose before bedtime. If the formula causes excessive bowel movements that disturb the viscera, reduce the number of pills; if pus or blood is present in the urine or stool, treat with other medications instead.
