Smallpox-Relieving Decoction,In cases where the smallpox eruption has fully resolved, the smallpox toxin has completely dissipated, and the patient has fully recovered after scabbing—if the patient then lets their guard down, indulges in excessive desires, or overindulges in food and drink, and this is compounded by wind-heat—it may lead to a recurrence of fever several days later, accompanied by red rashes all over the body that are extremely itchy; the more one scratches, the more it itches. The rashes first appear in various sizes resembling millet grains and gradually enlarge into patches resembling red clouds.

Drug Formulation

5 qian of Scrophularia, 3 qian of Angelica sinensis, 1 qian of Forsythia, 2 qian of White Peony, 2 qian of Moutan Bark, 2 qian of Schizonepeta, 2 qian of Chrysanthemum, 0.5 fen of Cimicifuga, and 1 qian of Trichosanthes root.
