Drug Formulation
Half a jin of raw soft-shelled turtle meat (prepared as for eating), half a liang of Scutellaria baicalensis (black core removed), half a liang of Bupleurum (stems removed), half a liang of dung beetle (wings, head, and legs removed; stir-fried), 1 fen of woodlouse (stir-fried; legs removed), 1 fen of dried ginger (roasted), 1 fen of rhubarb (raw, coarsely chopped), 1 fen of seaweed (washed to remove salt, then dried),Capsella seeds (roasted on paper) 1 fen, Cinnamon bark (with coarse bark removed) 1 fen, Moutan bark 1 fen, Magnolia bark (with coarse bark removed, roasted with ginger juice, and coarsely chopped) 1 fen, Aster root (sliced and dried) 1 fen, Lycopodium (with stems removed) 1 fen, Pinellia (washed in hot water to remove slime, then dried) 1 fen,Ginseng 1 fen, Euphorbia (chopped) 1 fen, (Common) Worm (roasted) 1 fen, Belamcanda (roasted) 1 fen, Donkey-hide Gelatin (roasted until dry) 1 fen, Peach Kernel (soaked in hot water, with skin, tip, and double kernels removed; ground separately) 1 fen, Stone Reed (hairs removed) 1 fen, Red Peony Root 1 fen, Mulberry Cuttlefish Bone (roasted) 1 liang.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 3 sheng of ash from under the stove and 2 sheng of wine; pour the wine over the ash to extract the lye. Use this lye to first boil the soft-shelled turtle meat until tender, then strain out the meat. Next, add the powdered herbs and the turtle meat broth, and simmer further until it becomes a paste. Form into pills as soon as possible; the pills should be the size of a Paulownia seed.

Take 20 pills per dose, washed down with warm wine before the onset of an attack.
