Chinese Name : 苏合丸

Drug Formulation

Suhexiang (ground separately; white variety is best) 2 liang, Benzoin (decocted in ash-free wine, with impurities sifted out) 2 liang, Xunluxiang (ground separately) 1 liang, Borneol (ground separately) 1 liang, Cloves 1 liang, Musk (ground separately; do not expose to fire) 1 liang,Aquilaria agallocha, Atractylodes macrocephala, Aquilaria sinensis (ground separately to a very fine powder), Cyperus rotundus (roasted), and black rhinoceros horn (chipped into shavings and ground separately to a very fine powder).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix them evenly one by one, and form into pills with refined honey. Divide into 50 pills. Separately, prepare a coating using 1 liang of cinnabar (water-washed) and coat the pills with it, then seal with wax.

Benefits

For sudden, severe pain in the chest and abdomen caused by pathogenic factors, resulting in collapse and loss of consciousness; all cases of qi obstruction attributed to cold syndromes; and all cases where malignant toxins have invaded the body, causing obstruction of the orifices.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose; split it open just before use and dissolve it in well water, ginger decoction, or warm wine.
