Chinese Name : 侧子十味酒

Drug Formulation

5 liang of Cezǐ, 8 liang of fresh ginger, 8 liang of white mulberry root bark, 4 liang of cassia bark, 8 liang of white atractylodes, 6 liang of acanthopanax bark, 6 liang of salvia root, 5 liang of续断, 5 liang of Achyranthes root, and 4 liang of Asarum.

Processing

Cut the ingredients, place them in a silk bag, and steep in 5 sheng of ash-free wine for 5–6 days.

Benefits

For beriberi: swelling, pain, heaviness, and a sense of oppression in the feet; occasional weakness; sudden surges of fullness and oppression in the chest and abdomen; numbness in the lower abdomen; and occasional sharp pain.

Instructions for Use

Initial dose: approximately the volume of one chicken egg yolk; take twice daily. Gradually increase the dose until the desired effect is achieved.

Note

Avoid pork, cold water, peaches, plums, sparrow meat, raw green onions, and raw vegetables.
