Drug Formulation

Opium (i.e., poppy) 2.5 qian, asafoetida 1 qian, frankincense 0.9 fen, agarwood 0.5 fen, ox bile 0.25 fen.

Processing

First, grind the agarwood, frankincense, and ox bile into a fine powder. Place the opium in a bowl, add a few drops of water to dissolve it, then dissolve the asafoetida. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of mung beans, and coat them with gold leaf.

Take 1 pill per dose; for pain caused by heat, swallow with cold water; for pain caused by cold, swallow with boiling water.
