Drug Formulation

4 liang of Mangcao, 4 liang of ginger (sliced and roasted until dry), 4 liang of tube lacquer, 4 liang of black sesame seeds (if unavailable, substitute with white sesame seeds), 4 liang of rehmannia root, 4 liang of pig’s-tooth soapberry, and 4 liang of dodder seeds.

Processing

Place the ingredients in a jar, seal it tightly with yellow clay, and fire-calcine for one day. Then bury the jar in a pit 1 chi 2 cun deep. Remove it during the three hottest months of summer, place it in a container, and expose it to the night air for three nights—ensuring it is not exposed to sunlight—then grind and sift it into a fine powder.
