Drug Formulation

1 sheng of coix seed, 5 liang of Polygonum aviculare, 2 liang of raw Ophiopogon (with the core removed),8 liang of gypsum (crushed and wrapped in cotton), 6 liang of apricot kernels (tips and skins removed, split into two halves, and crushed), 40 black plums (split open), 8 liang of fresh ginger, 3 liang of raw rhinoceros horn shavings, 3 liang of lycium bark, 2 liang of ginseng, 1 sheng of bamboo sap, and 2 he of white honey.

Instructions for Use

Boil the 10 ingredients in 1 dou of water until reduced to 3 sheng; add bamboo sap and white honey, stir to blend, and drink in small sips. There are no restrictions regarding temperature or whether taken before or after meals. If there is excessive heat, drink it cold before meals; if there is excessive cold, drink it warm after meals; if taking pill-form medications, it is best to swallow them with this decoction.
