Drug Formulation

2 liang of Mu Jie, 2 liang of castor seeds, 2 liang of Angelica sinensis, 2 liang of raw Rehmannia root, 2 liang of Sophora flavescens, 2 liang of Xanthium seeds, 1 liang of raw rhubarb, 1 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 1 liang of Phellodendron bark, 1 liang of red peony root, 1 liang of Scrophularia root, 1 liang of Trichosanthes root,1 liang of peach kernels, 1 liang of white angelica root, 1 liang of horn thistle, 5 qian of Sichuan tortoise shell, 5 qian of straight silkworm pupae, 5 qian of whole scorpions, 5 qian of yellow wasp nests, 8 qian of licorice, 2 liang of locust branches, and 14 toads.

Processing

Take 7 jin of sesame oil and soak the above herbs in it for 5 days in spring, 3 days in summer, 7 days in autumn, and 10 days in winter. Then, place the mixture in a pot and boil until the herbs are completely dried out. Remove the residue and filter thoroughly. Return the liquid to the pot and boil over high heat until a drop of the oil forms a bead when dropped into water. Weigh out 1 jin of the purified oil, add 8 liang of roasted yellow lead powder (ground into a fine powder), and stir it in slowly. Wait until white smoke rises, then pour the mixture into well water for seven days to remove the fiery properties.
