Formulas Name : Xiangfu Ointment

Chinese Name : 香附膏

Drug Formulation

2 pieces of Aconite (peeled and with the pith removed; used raw), half a liang of Acorus, half a liang of alum (burned until charred), half a liang of apricot kernels (soaked in hot water, peeled, tips and double kernels removed, then stir-fried), 2 qian of musk (ground), and 60 castor seeds (husked).

Instructions for Use

First, grind the Aconite, Acorus, and alum into a fine powder. Next, prepare a paste from the castor seeds and apricot kernels. Then, grind the musk into a fine powder. Mix all ingredients thoroughly, form into pills the size of a jujube pit, wrap them in wax, pierce them with a large needle, and insert them into the ear twice daily.
