Drug Formulation

Hu Huanglian 1 liang, Huanglian 1 liang, Kulinzi 1 liang, Baiwuti (without the fan-shaped part) half a liang (3 fen in early autumn), Aloe (ground separately) 1 fen, dried toad head (charred to preserve its nature, ground separately) 1 fen, Musk 1 qian (ground separately), Qingdai 1.5 liang (ground separately).

Processing

First, grind the first four ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with pig bile to form pills, each about the size of a walnut. Place one croton seed kernel inside each pill, wrap it in a single layer of oiled cloth, and steam until cooked. Remove the croton seed kernel, then add approximately 1 sheng of rice and steam until the rice is fully cooked. Mix in the remaining four ingredients to form pills; if it is difficult to shape into pills, add a small amount of flour paste to form pills the size of a sesame seed.
