Drug Formulation

Curcuma zedoaria (roasted, coarsely chopped) 4 liang, Acorus tatarinowii (roasted, coarsely chopped) 4 liang, purified Cyperus rotundus 4 liang (soaked in alcohol and vinegar for 7 days, simmered over low heat until dry, then roasted),Areca Nut 1 liang (thinly chopped), Raw Pharbitis Powder 1 liang (ground separately), Blue Wood Fragrance (stem removed) half liang, Barley Sprouts (thoroughly washed, dried in an oven) half liang, Green Tangerine Peel (white pith removed) half liang, Piper longum 4 qian, Cloves 4 qian, Southern Wood Fragrance 4 qian.

Processing

Except for areca nut, cloves, and southern frankincense (which should not be over-roasted), and the ground pharbitis seed, the remaining seven ingredients should be coarsely chopped and roasted. Grind them together with the areca nut and southern frankincense into a fine powder. Just before use, mix in the ground pharbitis seed until uniform. Form into pills the size of mung beans using a water-based paste.

Instructions for Use

Take 30 to 50 pills per dose, washed down with lightly gingered broth; warm tea or warm wine are also suitable, and the time of administration is not restricted. For very young children, make the pills the size of millet grains; the number of pills and method of administration are as above.
